The Kyiv Economic Court has rejected the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate, UOC-MP) request for interim relief against the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra National Reserve.

This is stated in the text of the court ruling.

"The motion of the Holy Dormition Kyiv Pechersk Lavra/ Monastery/Ukrainian Orthodox Church to secure the claim in case No. 910/4552/23 is dismissed. The ruling comes into force from the moment of its signing and may be appealed in the manner and within the time limit established by Articles 254-257 of the Civil Procedural Code of Ukraine," the decision reads.

The court ruling was signed on 28 March.

The UOC-MP wanted the court to invalidate the decision of the reserve to terminate the agreement on the use of the buildings and facilities of the Lavra and to extend its stay there.

The news that the UOC-MP filed a motion with the court came on 29 March. The Ministry of Culture stated that the brethren should leave the Lavra despite this lawsuit.

On the day of the inventory of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra property, supporters of the UOC-MP obstructed the work of the Ministry of Culture's commission. The police had to be called.
