Andriy Nebytov, head of the National Police in Kyiv Region, said that the invaders killed 1,374 Ukrainians in Kyiv Region, including 38 children, Ukrinform reports.
"The work is ongoing. Russia has committed a lot of crimes, killings of civilians. There are 1374 dead Ukrainians whose bodies have already been found. But 280 Ukrainians remain missing. As of now, we do not know their fate. ...During this month (of occupation in 2022 - ed.), 38 children were killed, and 34 were injured. The youngest child was six months old. But the work continues," Nebytov said.
He emphasized that these victims were not accidental, most of the people were killed deliberately with small arms.
The head of the regional police added that Bucha was the first area in Kyiv Region to be liberated quickly, so the occupiers did not have time to hide all their crimes.
For comparison, the official mentioned the example of Mariupol, where the police cannot document Russian crimes because the city is under occupation.
On 31 March 2022, the Ukrainian Defence Forces liberated the town of Bucha in Kyiv Region from Russian invaders. Bucha survived 33 days of occupation, and law enforcement officers recorded 9,000 Russian war crimes.
