The ceremony took place near the Church of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called and All Saints in Bucha, the president's website says.

“Together with the Head of State, the memory of the dead was honoured by: President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu, Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Eduard Heger, Prime Minister of Slovenia Robert Golob, Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković, as well as Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak,” the message reads.

During the ceremony, the names of 77 identified persons buried in a mass grave near the church, as well as 11 servicemen killed in battles for Bucha, were announced.

On 31 March 2022, Ukrainian defenders liberated Bucha from Russian occupation. The enemy army killed over 1,100 people in the town and its outskirts.
