Ukraine is resuming electricity exports, according to the website of the Ministry of Energy.
The relevant executive order was signed by Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.
"The Ukrainian power system has been operating for almost two months without any restrictions for consumers, with a power reserve... The next step is to launch electricity exports, which will allow us to attract additional financial resources for the necessary reconstruction of the destroyed and damaged energy infrastructure," said Halushchenko.
The capacity for export is 400 MW. It is permitted by the European network of transmission system operators ENTSO-E. However, actual export volumes may fluctuate. It all depends on the time of day and market conditions.
Despite this, Halushchenko said that meeting the electricity needs of Ukrainian consumers is a priority.
"...Electricity will be exported provided that Ukrainian consumers are supplied with it and may be suspended if the situation changes," the minister added.
