Defence Ministry asks public not to share video of soldier's beheading
Hanna Malyar

Deputy Minister of Defence Hanna Malyar has called for a stop to the spread of the video of the brutal murder of a Ukrainian serviceman by Russians. Ukrainian services are carefully studying it frame by frame to identify the war criminals.

Everything is being done to identify the victim, Malyar said on Telegram. She urged the public to refrain from voicing any versions or the identity of the deceased.

"It is important for all of us to understand that identifying a person from a video, and especially a person in such circumstances, is an extremely difficult task. Therefore, we ask you to refrain from publicly voicing any versions until the official conclusions are made. Please be respectful of the victim's family and do not make any public assumptions about the victim's identity, even if you are absolutely sure that you have identified him. We urge you to stop the dissemination of this video, as well as any similar video footage," she wrote.

Malyar recalled that the enemy wants to intimidate Ukrainians and make us weaker. But all it will get in return is our rage and the complete defeat of the occupiers, sentences for the murderers and a tribunal for the aggressor state.

Yesterday, the Russians released a video of the beheading of a Ukrainian soldier. According to CNN, there is another similar video.

The Security Service of Ukraine is conducting a pre-trial investigation into yet another Russian war crime. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that this was no accident. Russians kill Ukrainians with particular cruelty. Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called for the expulsion of a country that behaves like ISIS from the UN Security Council.
