Another brigade is being formed as part of the Assault Guard, it will be called the Charter Brigade, Deputy Interior Minister Kateryna Pavlichenko has said on the air of the telethon.
"Since we have seen a fairly high public demand to join certain units (of the Assault Guard - ed.), we have extended the deadline for submitting an application. And, in addition, we are now also forming a new brigade, which will be called the Charter. It will be formed as part of the National Guard," the deputy minister said.
Charter will be the ninth brigade of the Assault Guard and the seventh in the National Guard. Recruitment to the brigade has already begun.
Earlier, the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people called for joining the ranks of the Assault Guard.
On 2 February, the Interior Ministry began forming the Assault Guard brigades. As of the end of March, the brigades were formed, but recruitment to reserve units was ongoing.
