Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh has confirmed that the Patriot system in Ukraine had been damaged earlier, the Voice of America has said.
"I can confirm that one Patriot system was damaged, but now it has been repaired and is fully operational," Singh said.
Earlier, the media reported that the Russian attack on the Patriot system led to partial damage to the air defence system. Allegedly, the Russian attack with Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, Kalibr cruise missiles and other munitions damaged the Patriot's battery generator and some of the system's electronics.
In turn, Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat said that it is impossible to destroy the Patriot air defence system with a Kinzhal missile, as its components are not in the same place.
