On 6 June, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy chaired a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff.

The Staff heard reports from the military command and analysed in detail the situation at the front and the readiness of Ukrainian forces for further action. "The readiness is maximum," Zelenskyy stressed.

He noted that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station "was blown up deliberately, but the enemy acted chaotically, allowing their own equipment to be flooded".

"At the same time, the dam's explosion did not affect Ukraine's ability to de-occupy its own territories," Zelenskyy stressed.

In the early hours of 6 June, the Russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. Evacuation of the population from dangerous areas at risk of flooding has begun in Kherson Region.

Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian intelligence did have information about Russian preparations to blow up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. Ukraine had shared this information with foreign partners before the disaster.
