President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has thanked Western partners who have taken new steps to support Ukraine and Ukrainians over the past week.
"I would like to thank you today. I would like to thank all our partners who really help and who have taken new steps to support our country and our people this week. Thank you to the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Canada, Poland, and Luxembourg," the president said in his evening address.
He also thanked all the countries participating in the Ramstein group which met this week.
"And, of course, many thanks to all those who train our soldiers, who share their experience with our heroes and who learn from Ukrainians. They are learning from Ukrainian resilience, courage, and an unbreakable desire to win life for their country and Ukrainian children. We will definitely do it - we will win it," Zelensky said.
The 13th meeting of the Ramstein contact group on Ukraine's defence took place on 15 June. Following the meeting, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said that the allies focused on Ukraine's needs for air defence systems.
For his part, Ukraine's Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov noted that Ukraine's partners plan to approve a programme to train Ukrainian pilots, engineers and technicians on F-16 fighter jets by July.
