As of Saturday 17 June, 16 people have been reported dead and 31 missing as a result of the Russian explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry has said on Telegram.
"The results of the 12th day of liquidation of the consequences of the Russian explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station... Sixteen people were killed: 14 in Kherson Region and two in Mykolayiv Region. Thirty-one people are missing," it noted.
It is noted that 1,300 houses remain flooded, including 1,274 in Kherson Region and 26 in Mykolayiv Region.
Some 3,614 people have been evacuated from the flooded areas, including 474 children and 80 people with limited mobility. The police received over 4,800 reports of property damage, 13,500 apartments and houses were checked. Disaster relief efforts are ongoing.
