A large landing ship, the Olenegorsky Gornyak, was attacked during a special operation by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in the port of Novorossiysk, Russia. The ship was attacked by a surface drone, sources in law enforcement told LB.ua.

They also provided the editorial office with a video of the attack, which they say shows an SBU surface drone packed with 450 kg of TNT attacking a Russian ship with about 100 crew members.

According to sources in the SBU, the special operation was carried out jointly with the Navy. As a result of the attack, the Olenegorsky Gornyak sustained a serious hole and is currently unable to carry out its combat missions, despite Russian allegations that the attack was repelled.

This is not the first successful SBU special operation using surface drones. Earlier, SBU head Vasyl Malyuk said that the attack on Russian ships in Sevastopol Bay in October last year and the recent bombing of the Kerch (Crimea) Bridge were the work of his agency.

Last night, explosions were heard in the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk. In the morning, the Russian Defence Ministry accused Ukraine of attacking the Novorossiysk naval base with "two unmanned boats". As usual, the Russians claimed that they had repelled the attack and that there were no injuries. Meanwhile, the port was closed to ships. Later, footage began to emerge of a damaged large landing ship, the Olenegorsky Gornyak, which is part of the Northern Fleet and should not have been based in the Black Sea.
