The head of the Čatalkioi commune in the Romanian city of Tulcea said that during the Russian attack on the port of Izmail, enemy drones flew into Romanian territory and one of them fell in the forest, Digi24 reports.
Residents of the commune said that drones flew over their houses. The windows in the apartments were damaged by the blast wave. People were scared.
The Defence Ministry of Romania responded to this information. An investigative team arrived at the site. Later, a representative of the department reported that experts "did not find anything that would confirm the information appeared."
The Romanian ministry said no drone had entered the country's airspace. At the same time, the department has enhanced security measures and constantly monitors land, air and sea spaces and cooperates with NATO to strengthen defences.
On the night of 2 August, the Russian army attacked the port infrastructure related to the export of Ukrainian grain. The Russians hit the south of Odesa region with "Shaheds". As a result of the attack, fires broke out at the facilities of the port and industrial infrastructure, the elevator was damaged.
Later, the Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov announced that during the night air attack Russia ruined 40,000 tons of grain in the Danube ports.
Earlier, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis condemned Russia's attack on the Reni port in Odesa.
