The Russian occupiers attacked Kherson in the morning. They fired at St. Catherine's Cathedral in the center of the city. During the elimination of the fire in the church, the enemy fired again.
During the first shelling, three passengers of the trolley bus that was passing the cathedral were wounded. They were hospitalised, reported the head of Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin in Telegram.
"A 39-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man are receiving medical assistance, an examination is being carried out. A 74-year-old man received severe chest injuries and a closed brain injury, doctors are fighting for his life," Prokudin noted.
During the second shelling four employees of the State Emergency Service, who were fighting the fire in the cathedral, were injured, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
"During the extinguishing of the fire caused by shelling in St. Catherine's Cathedral, another shelling took place. Four employees of the State Emergency Service were injured. All of them are hospitalised, they are provided with the necessary assistance. The special equipment was damaged," the report said.
The Russians have intensified their shelling of the Kherson Region. Yesterday, they shelled residential block, two banks, the territory of the detention center and the consulate. Two people were injured.
The increased number of shelling in Kherson is associated with the Russians’ recovery after losses on the left bank.
