The UN Development Program is engaged in strengthening the Odesa energy infrastructure. Alternative energy sources are installed in the city, reports the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is noted that alternative sources of energy are intended to ensure the energy supply of utility companies and the city's critical infrastructure.

The implementation of the project worth more than 50mn dollars is expected by the winter period. It will include the installation of a gas turbine, an 80 MW transformer, compressors, nine gas generators and control stations.

Earlier it was reported that the UNESCO mission had arrived in Odesa. It will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the damage caused to local cultural and religious objects by Russian missile strikes during 19-23 July.

According to the mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, UNESCO representatives will record and document the consequences of the Russian attacks.
