In the conditions of blocking the grain corridor by Russia, it is important to make maximum efforts so that grain supplies are continued without restrictions in the five neighboring countries of Ukraine,
stated the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at a meeting of ambassadors.
According to him, in the closure of the Russian grain corridor, normal logistics through the EU is becoming a vital factor for Ukraine.
"I want to say: today it is vital to convey to the Poles that our task is not to flood their markets and destroy their farmers. Our task is to allow our farmers to survive, to allow the Ukrainian economy to survive. They should not give us ultimatum or block the border. We are absolutely capable of negotiations and agreements, and this is our way. There are absolutely civilised tools and we will use them," the head of government said.
He added that today every effort should be made to prevent the extension of the blockade after 15. September.
"There are ideas on how to hold talks with our neighbors, friends and partners, the Poles, as well as the Romanians, so that we remove this issue from the agenda and remove it from their political agenda on the eve of the elections," Shmyhal noted.
On 17 July, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, announced the suspension of the "grain agreement". He called the reason for the breakup of the agreement that "the part of the agreement that concerns Russia has not been fulfilled."
The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, said that it is necessary to increase the export of Ukrainian grain through land corridors.
