The fact that China is delegating its Special Representative on Eurasian Affairs Li Hui to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the forum on the peace formula is a breakthrough, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said in an exclusive commentary to LB.ua.
"This is a historic victory. There will be no revolution in terms of content (the Chinese representative will express his position). But the mere fact that a Chinese representative is present at the forum will simply blow Russia's lid off," the minister said.
He noted that this was achieved thanks to the support of the Saudi leadership, Crown Prince Salman, with whom President Zelenskyy has good relations.
"The president's communication with the Crown Prince has borne fruit. We have resolved the issue with the Saudis, and they have already helped with the participation of the Chinese: they have good relations with China," Kuleba added.
China has confirmed that it will send a delegation to the Ukraine summit in Jeddah. The day before, Kuleba said that our country wants China to take part in the peace formula summit. According to the minister, Taiwan is not the subject of negotiations with Beijing, but there is an agreement that "Ukraine respects the territorial integrity of China and vice versa".
