Russia is planning a sabotage to draw Belarus into a full-scale war against Ukraine, SBU states on intelligence data collected.

A large-scale provocation "under a foreign flag" is planned at a strategic facility in Belarus — the Mozyr Oil Refinery, reported the SBU press service.

As reported, SRG consists of military personnel of the Russian armed forces and employees of the Russian special services, who were sent to Belarus under the guise of Wagner’s PMC. They are supposed to commit a provocation at the plant, pretending to be "Ukrainian saboteurs." Russia will accuse Ukraine for what happened.

The SBU reported about the data they had received on the preparation of the sabotage from several sources, particularly from the testimony of a captured Russian soldier.

This prisoner previously participated in the battles in the south of Ukraine, and recently received an order to relocate to Belarus as a member of the "Wagner group". While changing the place of service, the Russian received information about a "special mission" at the refinery. Deleted correspondence with other performers, photos of the object and data on the operation were found in his phone.

Wagner group mercenaries arrived in Belarus within a month after the unsuccessful mutiny of the group's owner, Yevgeny Prigozhin. After the failure of the "rebellion", which ended with the call of the self-proclaimed president Alexander Lukashenka to Prigozhin, the Wagner group were given a choice whether sign contracts with the Ministry of Defence or leave for Belarusian territory. Belarus claims that mercenaries are training as "territorial defence forces".
