The situation on the battlefield is difficult, but the the Ukrainian Armed Forces have an advantage, said Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defence Ministry (MID). In an interview with the North Macedonian media source Civilmedia.mk he noted that the defenders need more weapons, because the course of battles depends on it and its effective use. The extracts of an interview were presented by MID press service.
Skibitsky noted that the Russians managed to strengthen themselves in the occupied territories: they built large-scale mine barriers and several lines of fortifications. This has its effect on the Ukrainian’s advance.
"However, to those who believe that Ukraine is too slow during the offensive, I will say that war is not a sports competition," he said.
Skibitskyy also reminded to critics of the tempo of the Ukrainian offensive that before a full-scale war some believed that Ukraine would not be able to survive.
“But the aggressor got kicked in the teeth. And we will continue until he spits out the last tooth. And the main thing here is not as speed but unexpectedness and accuracy of the shot," he said.
During the su mmer offensive, the Defence Forces of Ukraine liberated more than 200 square kilometres of Ukrainian land in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions. The offensive operation continues.
