14 August has been declared the day of mourning for civilians killed by Russia in Kherson Region, the regional military administration has said.
Seven people have been killed in the Russian shelling of the region, including two children from the same family. Nine people were injured. In less than half a day, Russian troops shelled Kherson, Veletenske, Zolota Balka, Stanislav, Komyshany, and Shyroka Balka.
"Sofiyka was only 23 days old, her brother Artem was 12 years old. Today, they were killed by Russia along with their father and mother. Also in Shyroka Balka, the terrorists took the life of a 67-year-old local resident. In Stanislav, the pastor of a Christian church, Mykola Tachyshvili, and his fellow villager were killed by an enemy strike," the authorities said.
On the morning of 13 August, the Russian army shelled Kherson Region. Russians hit the village of Stanislav with multiple rocket launchers, killing two people. The shelling of Shyroka Balka killed three adults - two men and a woman, as well as a child under one month old and a 12-year-old boy.
Russian shelling of Kherson Region on the afternoon of 13 August damaged a high-voltage power line. Part of Kherson and some settlements in the region were left without electricity.
