The Russian Ministry of Defence has lied about the inspection of the Palau-flagged dry cargo ship Sukra Okan, which was heading to the Ukrainian port of Izmayil, the international investigative community InformNapalm has reported.
"Today, the Russian Ministry of Defence claimed that at approximately 6:40 a.m., the crew of the Russian Black Sea Fleet patrol ship Vasily Bykov forcibly stopped the Palau-flagged Sukra Okan, a bulk carrier heading to the Ukrainian port of Izmayil, in the Black Sea. The Russians wrote on their official channel that they had allegedly 'forced the ship to stop by firing warning shots and landed their maintenance team on it from a Ka-29 helicopter'," InformNapalm said.
According to the sailors of one of the ships who observed the incident, the vessel did not obey the Russian demands to stop, but simply temporarily changed course towards the coast, the territorial waters of Turkey.
"There was no helicopter, neither there were warning shots. There were only Russian threats on the radio. There was a Turkish crew on board the Sukra Okan, who ignored the threats and did not obey. Therefore, the ruscists lied about the 'successful inspection' of the vessel," the community noted.
