The chief of the General Staff of the Slovak Armed Forces, Gen Daniel Zmeko, has visited the Tavriya Operational and Strategic Group of Forces and met the Ukrainian military, the command's press service has reported.
"During the meeting with the defenders of Ukraine's Defence Forces, the Ukrainian side thanked Slovakia for its logistical assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In particular, it highlighted the effectiveness of the combat use of weapons provided by the Slovak Republic," the command said.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine expressed gratitude to their Slovak colleagues for supporting Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
On 11 August, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhnyy said he had met Gen Daniel Zmeko. They discussed the situation on the frontline, the Ukrainian army's needs for weapons, ammunition and air defence equipment.
On 9 August, the Slovak president allowed nine Slovak citizens to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
