Russia does not provide information on the places and conditions of detention of Ukrainian prisoners of war. There is also nothing known about their health status.
This was reported on Telegram by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
The headquarters held a meeting with the association of families of Ukrainian military. Representatives of the Coordination Center and the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights spoke with the families of the prisoners.
Answering the questions, a representative of the headquarters noted that Russia does not provide constructive information about the places and conditions of detention of prisoners of war, as well as their health.
"In violation of the Geneva Convention, the Russian Federation restricts access to Ukrainian prisoners of war for representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross," the statement said.
From the beginning of the full-scale invasion to 7 August this year, 2,598 Ukrainian soldiers have been returned from Russian captivity. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that everyone who captures the Russians at the front accelerates freedom for Ukrainian.
