One day of war costs Ukraine about $100mn. We are talking about public funds, not volunteer fees, states Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov in an interview with Ukrinform.
According to him, volunteers' supplies to the front make up about 3% of everything that has been sent to the war. At the same time, one day of war costs Ukraine $100mn.
"And now take the budgets of all the reputable large volunteer foundations and see how much they raise. And the state, which spends $100mn a day in total," he noted.
Therefore, according to Reznikov, "it is unfair to make claims against the state, saying that volunteers do everything. It is not true."
"In fact, it is the citizens of Ukraine who do it - those who work, because they pay taxes and these taxes go to the budget, and from this budget they go to the army, among other things. The army is the largest consumer of funds today. But funds are also needed to maintain the country as a whole: for infrastructure, for reconstruction, for supporting the socially vulnerable ones. Therefore, we need to work and pay taxes. Businesses need to be active and support entrepreneurs," the minister said.
According to Oleksiy Reznikov, since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 32 samples of domestically produced unmanned aerial systems of various types have been approved for operation. These include reconnaissance, strike UAVs, kamikaze drones and barrage munitions.
