North Atlantic Treaty Organisation defence ministers will meet in Brussels on October 12-13, states Interfax-Ukraine with reference to NATO headquarters.

"A meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of defence ministers will be held on October 12-13 at NATO headquarters in Brussels. The meeting will be chaired by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg," the statement said.

The program of the meeting will be made public later.

In August, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, met with NATO commanders on the Polish-Ukrainian border.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg said that NATO would support Ukraine until it wins the war against Russia.

On 15 August, the media published a statement by the Chief of Staff to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation Secretary General, Stefan Jensen, who admitted that Ukraine could become a NATO member if Russia made territorial concessions. He added that this decision should be made by Kyiv. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry responded to this statement by calling it absolutely unacceptable.

Later, the White House denied that there had been talks about granting Ukraine NATO membership in exchange for giving up part of its territory. At a joint press conference with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine was ready to exchange Russian Belgorod for NATO membership
