President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff. They discussed the implementation of a plan to protect energy and critical infrastructure from Russian air strikes.

Also, the protection of the ports of Odesa Region and the infrastructure of the "grain corridor" were discussed, as Zelenskyy says via Telegram.

"Protection of frontline territories. Preparing for winter," he added.

The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Energy, Ukrenergo, Ukrhydroenergo, Naftogaz, and the General Staff. Zelenskyy assured that "all the orders have been given" and the work is ongoing.

The president held the previous meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers devoted to energy on 6 September. At that time, he admitted that there was still work to be done.

The port infrastructure of Odesa Region has been systematically attacked by Russians since July, when they unilaterally withdrew from the grain deal. Almost daily attacks on port infrastructure have occurred this week.

The enemy began attacking energy infrastructure, including thermal power plants, last year before the heating season. It was then that the Russians began using Iranian Shahed drones. According to the Ministry of Energy, this winter as hard as the previous one, when the country was forced to resort to stabilisation blackouts due to the destruction caused by shelling.
