President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an evening video address that Russian terrorists would again try to destroy Ukraine's energy system this winter.
These threats were discussed at a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff.
The meeting focused on Ukraine's preparations for the winter, the protection of generation facilities and the supply of electricity and heat, and the restoration of everything damaged by Russian strikes and hostilities.
The meeting also discussed the situation at the frontline, the supply of ammunition and air defence systems, as well as defence issues.
"We are fully aware of the danger. Today, the military and all officials responsible for the protection of our energy sector and our winter tactics were briefed at the Staff. In particular, the prime minister, ministers, heads of energy companies, representatives of the communications sector, and heads of regional administrations reported. Everything related to the physical protection of facilities, reconstruction, execution of orders, and the procedure for dealing with certain emergencies," Zelenskyy said.
He added that local authorities should "fully fulfil their part of the preparatory work".
The president added that the current state of winterisation in the regions will be assessed next week.
