In his evening address, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the creation of an operational headquarters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine due to the Hamas militants' attack on Israel.
"Since this morning, I have been in constant contact with our diplomats and intelligence. Because of the terrorist attack on Israel and the threat to our citizens in Israel, an operational headquarters has been set up at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine," the president said.
He noted that as of now, information about the possible death of one Ukrainian citizen is being checked and two Ukrainian citizens are being searched for.
"Please, dear Ukrainians, if you are in Israel, be as careful as possible. If you need anything, please contact our embassy by any means available to you: Ukraine will help all its people, no matter what happens," he stressed.
Zelenskyy noted that today the whole world has seen horrific footage from Israel – footage of terrorists abusing women and men, taking hostages, even the elderly, without mercy.
"The terrorist attack on Israel was carefully prepared, and the whole world understands which terror sponsors could have encouraged and organised the attack. Israel has every right to defend itself against terror, just like any other state. Let the value of human life and the rejection of terror be the principles that will finally unite the whole world," the president said.
