Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed a new commander of the Territorial Defence Forces. This is stated on the President's website.
"To dismiss Tantsyura Ihor Ivanovych from the post of Commander of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," reads Decree No. 678/2023.
"To appoint Major General Bargylevych Anatoliy Vladyslavovych as Commander of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," reads Decree No. 679/2023.
Ihor Tantsyura has been in charge of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since May 2022.
Anatoliy Bargylevych, 54, is a Major General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and since 2022 he has been the Chief of Staff of the Eastern Group of Forces. In 2020-2022, he was the Deputy Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for Territorial Defence.
