Russian intelligence services are conducting a campaign to discredit Ukraine in the Middle East, using Hamas's attack on Israel. They are preparing to accuse Kyiv of selling Western weapons provided by allies to terrorists. Russia's GRU has already handed over to Hamas trophy weapons captured during the war in Ukraine, made in the US and EU countries, Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) has warned.
"The next step, according to the Russians' plan, should be fake accusations of the Ukrainian military of allegedly selling Western weapons to terrorists on a regular basis," it said.
They want to use these fakes a series of "exposés" and "investigations" in the Western media. "To be more convincing, the Russian special services intend to use the comments of a traitor from the Ukrainian Border Service, Senior Lieutenant Ruslan Syrovyy, who recently defected to Moscow. Another provocation of the enemy is aimed at discrediting the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the complete cessation of military assistance to our country from Western partners," the GUR warned.
On 7 October, Hamas terrorists fired thousands of rockets and invaded Israel's border territory. The state declared a state of war. The fighting continues. The IDF is recapturing the settlements captured by terrorists.
