The authorities in Kherson Region have decided on compulsory evacuation of families with children from 34 settlements, the head of the Kherson regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, has said.
According to him, the security situation in these settlements is the most difficult due to daily Russian shelling from various types of weapons.
The list includes Udchany, Kachkarivka, Mylove, Novokayiry, Zolota Balka, Mykhaylivka, Osokorivka, Beryslav, Zmiyivka, Novoberyslav, Tyahynka, Burhunka, Lvove, Mykolayivka, Odradokamyanka, Olhivka, Chervonyy Mayak, Vesele, Kozatske, Antonivka, Komyshany, Sadove and Pryozerne.
"There will be a mandatory evacuation of families with children from these settlements. Because the occupiers continue to shell these villages mercilessly. And there are still children there. We have to take care of their safety," Prokudin said.
He said that the evacuees would be travelling free of charge and would be provided with accommodation if needed.
