The Group of Seven's support for Ukraine in the war with Russia will not depend on the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. This was stated by Japan, while the group's foreign ministers are preparing to hold virtual talks with Kyiv during a meeting in Tokyo, Reuters reports.
The United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States and the European Union will meet in the Japanese capital on 7-8 November to discuss Russia's war in Ukraine and the Israeli-Palestinian crisis.
"Our commitment to continuing tough sanctions against Russia and our strong support for Ukraine have not wavered, even as the situation in the Middle East escalates," Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa said at a press conference.
