Ukraine has fully established production of most UAV models. Currently, the vast majority of drones purchased for the Armed Forces are Ukrainian-made. Only a few models are imported, according to Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin.
"It's good that the Ministry of Defence is increasing the purchase of drones. And I am glad that the vast majority of drones purchased for the Defence Forces are already produced in Ukraine. Only a few models are being imported," the minister said.
According to Kamyshin, Ukrainian manufacturers are already capable of producing a decent number of drones. From the smallest and cheapest FPVs to long-range models similar to Iranian-made Shahed strike drones.
"Stable contracting will allow us to further increase production capacity," he added.
The 2024 state budget provides over UAH 43 billion for the purchase of drones.
