Electricity consumption is at a record level for this heating season. This was reported by Ukrenergo.
"On 7 December, the power system recorded a record high level of consumption for this heating season in the morning. The daily maximum consumption yesterday was 4% higher than the corresponding figure for 6 December. This morning, Ukrenergo's Dispatch Centre is again recording a high level of consumption, which is almost equal to yesterday's record," the statement said.
"To avoid blackouts and maintain a balance between production and consumption in the power system, it is now especially important to conserve energy.
In order to avoid outages and maintain the balance in the power system, Ukrenergo's Dispatch Centre is forced to engage emergency assistance from the transmission system operators of Romania and Poland from 11:00 to 19:00 today with a capacity of 400 MW.
At the same time, no consumption limits have been introduced, no outage schedules have been introduced and are not expected.
