On the night of 16 December, Russia once again attacked Ukraine with 31 Shahed-136/131 UAVs. Ukraine's air defences destroyed 30 of them, the Air Force has said.

"On the night of 16 November 2023, the enemy attacked with Shahed-type attack drones from three directions - Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Seshcha, and Kursk. In total, 31 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs were used in the attack, which the occupiers sent to different regions of Ukraine," the Air Force said.

Fighter jets, anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defence Forces of Ukraine were engaged to destroy the enemy targets.

As a result, the Ukrainian Defence Forces destroyed 30 Shaheds in Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Vinnytsya, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, Mykolayiv and Khmelnytskyy regions.

Also, according to Serhiy Nayev, 14 UAVs were shot down in northern Ukraine.

On Saturday night, Russians attacked Kyiv with drones from different directions in several waves and groups. Air defence forces shot down all enemy aerial targets over the capital.
