Truck traffic has resumed on the border with Slovakia.

"According to information received by Ukrainian border guards last night, representatives of Slovak carriers unblocked the traffic of trucks entering Slovakia in front of the Vysne Nemecke checkpoint for an indefinite period," the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Service of Ukraine reported.

According to the Ukrainian border guards, the Slovaks reported a temporary unblocking, after which the clearance of trucks to leave Ukraine began as usual.

The State Border Service of Ukraine said that since the end of the blockade, as of 09.00 on 15 December, almost 60 trucks have been cleared to leave Ukraine through the Uzhhorod checkpoint. Another 1,065 trucks are in the electronic queue to leave Ukraine.

What is known about the blocking of the Slovak border:

· Back in November, Slovak carriers threatened to close the border.

· On 1 December, they followed through on their threats and blocked truck traffic on the border with Ukraine.

· On 4 December, the action ended and traffic was unblocked.

· On 7 December, Slovak carriers announced that they were ready to block the Vysne Nemecke checkpoint.

· On 11 December, truck traffic at the border was blocked again.

· On 15 December, truck traffic from Ukraine to Slovakia was partially resumed.
