Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhny dismissed speculation that the listening device in one of his workplaces was installed by representatives of the General Staff. "We have not been working with ears for a long time," he told RBC-Ukraine.
This office was not his permanent one. Zaluzhnyy was supposed to work there today, but the day before, a listening device was found there.
"I have several places where I work. And this happened in one of them. I haven't been there for a long time. But we checked and found [the bug]," he said.
Zaluzhnyy described the incident "as war".
"Anything can happen. The investigation will prove what happened," he said.
When asked whether information constituting a state secret could have been voiced there, he said the following: "This room was used before. But the break [in its use] was quite significant. Therefore, it was prepared specifically for my meeting, apparently".
