National Police deputy chief Dmytro Tyshlek, who recently became a subject of a journalistic investigation by Bihus.info and is being investigated by the State Bureau of Investigation, has resigned. He said this in a comment to RBC-Ukraine. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko told reporters that he had already accepted and signed Tyshlek's resignation request.
"I have Tyshlek's report and it has been accepted. I have signed the order," he said.
Tyshlek claims that he made the decision to resign on his own.
"I decided to tender my resignation from the post of deputy head of the National Police of my own free will. I have submitted it to the superiors for signing. I'm also waiting for the results of the SBI investigation, which, let me remind you, was launched at my request, and the NAPC inspection," he said.
