On the night of 22 December 2023, Russian occupation forces attacked Ukraine with 28 Shahed attack drones from the areas of Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), Cape Chauda (Crimea).
According to the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 24 Shaheds were shot down in Kyiv, Odesa, Mykolayiv, Kherson, Zhytomyr, Rivne and Khmelnytskyy Regions.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defence Forces were involved in repelling the air attack.
