Today, 12 January, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met US Special Representative for Ukraine's Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker, his press service has said.
"Last year was a record year for the development of Ukrainian-American relations. We are determined to continue to maintain this momentum, which significantly helps Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor," it said.
Zelenskyy thanked US President Joseph Biden, Congress and the American people for their broad defence, financial, economic and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
He stressed that Penny Pritzker's visit was a signal of strong support for Ukraine.
He noted the importance of strengthening air defence to protect cities, national export routes and critical infrastructure in view of Russia's continued missile terror.
The parties also discussed the issue of ensuring Ukraine's macro-financial stability and ways to use frozen Russian assets as a significant source of funds for Ukraine's reconstruction. The year 2024 should be the year of final decisions and implementation of concrete steps in this direction.
