Ukrainian intelligence believes that any talk of Russia's readiness to negotiate is aimed at the countries of the West and the Global South - that they are supposedly willing to stop and start the negotiation process. This was stated by Vadym Skibitskyy, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
"Putin's intentions are clear: control over our territory and its complete occupation. And when there is any talk that the enemy is ready to negotiate, we must understand that Russia's conditions are not acceptable to our country," he said.
In his opinion, any negotiations give Russia time to restore its potential, build up its forces and create strategic reserves to continue its aggression.
According to the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Russia has failed to achieve the goals of the so-called "special military operation".
"Therefore, the only strategic goal left for Moscow is to reach the administrative borders of Luhansk and Donetsk Regions. The second thing they will now do (and we can already see this from the documents we have at our disposal) is to keep the seized territories that are now under temporary occupation: Kherson, Zaporizhzhya and part of Kharkiv Region," Skibitskyy said.
Russia will also try to destroy Ukraine's air defence, aviation and defence industry facilities to prevent the Armed Forces of Ukraine from increasing production and strengthening their capabilities.
"These are the tasks that the Russian Federation is currently setting for itself for this year," the intelligence official added.
Ukraine's strategic goal is to liberate all the occupied territories.
