Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyy, commander of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops, said that in the Avdiyivka sector Russians are increasing the intensity of artillery shelling, have a significant advantage in ammunition, are increasing the number of assault groups - up to a battalion tactical group, are sending new reserves into the battle, and are having some local successes.
Tarnavskyy notes that the operational situation is dynamic. The Ukrainian defence forces continue to conduct defensive operations, sometimes regaining lost positions, setting up additional positions of units, firing positions, and observation posts.
Over the last day, our defenders repelled 25 Russian attacks in the Avdiyivka sector, 30 attacks in the Novopavlivka sector and one attack in the Orikhiv sector.
In total, Russians carried out 36 air strikes in the Tavria Joint Forces Operation Area over the past day, carrying out 56 combat engagements, 1,074 attacks and 118 kamikaze drone strikes.
Russian total losses in manpower, killed and wounded, amounted to 319 people, and in weapons and military equipment - five tanks, 13 armoured combat vehicles, two artillery systems, 11 cars, two air defence systems, and three units of special equipment. A total of 278 UAVs of various types were neutralised or destroyed. Among other things, an enemy dugout was destroyed.
