Ukraine will receive fighter jets this year, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an evening video address on 1 March.
"Today we have a new package of military support for our soldiers from the Netherlands. By the way, the Netherlands is actively helping us with air defence, with the F-16 coalition. This year, new fighters will be in our skies, and we must make this year effective in defending against Russian guided bombs, Russian aircraft, and their missiles," the president said.
Zelenskyy added that his office had prepared "active international steps" for March.
"There will be more support, we are preparing new security agreements, there will be new agreements on weapons for our soldiers. The key thing is that Russia must lose, and our country, our partners must restore security," the president said.
