Explosions have been heard in Kyiv. Debris fell in the Shevchenkivskyy, Podilskyy and Svyatoshynskyy districts of Kyiv, and residential buildings were damaged. As of 8:55 a.m., the number of wounded increased from 12 to 13, the State Emergency Service reported. Four people were hospitalised.
In particular, a girl of 11 years old (according to the Office of the Prosecutor General, she is 13). Others were treated on the spot.
The Air Force reported that Russians attacked with 31 missiles, including two aerial ballistic missiles. Air defence systems shot them all down.
At 5:55 a.m., eight victims were reported.
The State Emergency Service reported on the final consequences of the attack:
Podilskyy district: at one address, a fire broke out in a two-storey building with an area of 30 sq.m. The first floor and partially the second were destroyed. At another address, a transformer substation was on fire, and at another address, a fire broke out in a warehouse building on an area of 150 sq.m.
Shevchenkivskyy district: at one address, a fire broke out in an apartment on the 5th floor of a 6-storey residential building. Also in this area, three cars caught fire and the windows of an apartment building were damaged.
Svyatoshynskyy district: windows in a residential building were damaged.
The Air Force warned of the threat of Kinzhal missiles. As of 5 a.m., more missiles were flying to the capital, and the end of air alert was announced at 6:12 a.m.
Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported the first explosions in the city at 5:02. At 5:06 a.m., the Russians launched missiles again.
"Missile fragments fell on the premises of a kindergarten in Svyatoshynskyy district. Cars are on fire in the Shevchenkivskyy district. Emergency services are on their way to the site," Mayor Klitschko said of the first wave of attacks.
In Podilskyy district, debris was reported to have fallen on the territory of two enterprises, and in Svyatoshynskyy district, on a residential building.
In Shevchenkivskyy, an apartment and a car park were on fire. A substation in the Podil district was also on fire, and information about a fire on the roof of a house was not confirmed.
At 5:48 a.m., the mayor reported four injured, but later the number increased to eight. No one was hospitalised. Initially, one person was reported injured in Svyatoshynskyy district, and three more were injured in Shevchenkivskyy district.
After 5:50 a.m., the mayor added that in Svyatoshynskyy, two nine-storey buildings had their windows smashed by a shock wave.
