A Russian night attack has damaged energy facilities in six Regions of Ukraine. The Regions in question are Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Cherkasy and Chernivtsi, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
Emergency blackouts were introduced in some Regions. The Prime Minister stressed the need to strengthen air defence to protect against further attacks.
"Ukraine needs more air defence systems to secure critical infrastructure and protect the population. This is the main subject of conversation with our international partners," he said.
The Russian army resumed its tactics of massive attacks on the energy sector in the second half of March.
