An infrastructure facility was damaged in the Zvyagel community as a result of a Russian strike. There is a direct threat of air pollution, the city council said.
Residents of the community have been advised to stay indoors with windows closed. Schools have now introduced distance learning.
"As for pre-schools: for parents who have no one to leave their children with, there will be regular groups," the statement said.
The city council added that there were no civilian casualties as a result of the strike.
The Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration clarified that last night, during an air raid, Russian kamikaze drones attacked a critical infrastructure facility.
