The Reuters news agency reports that it has gained access to the report of the observers on the observance of sanctions against North Korea, provided to the UN Security Council committee. According to the 32-page document, Russia violated the sanctions regime by purchasing and using weapons from the DPRK in the war against Ukraine.
Experts have confirmed that the missile used by the occupiers to hit Kharkiv on 2 January 2024 was a Korean ballistic missile, the Hwasong-11. No evidence was found to indicate that the munition was produced in Russia.
The monitoring mission pointed out that it "cannot independently determine where the missile was launched from and by whom, but the trajectory information provided by the Ukrainian authorities points to the Russian Federation".
