The Kharkiv and Donetsk Regions were at the centre of discussions between Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. In particular, they discussed Ukraine's need for air defence systems.
Ukraine currently needs seven batteries, including two batteries needed to protect the Kharkiv Region. Dmytro Kuleba said this at a briefing with Blinken on the second day of Blinken's visit.
According to the Ukrainian minister, there are opportunities to transfer these air defence systems.
He added that Russian terror can only be stopped by the strength, speed and determination of partners. The key issue in the negotiations was not only the volume of weapons and ammunition, but also the speed of these supplies. A separate topic was the development of Ukraine's defence sector and investments in it.
"We went through each system that is on the horizon that can be brought to Ukraine. The Secretary of State is working with each relevant country," he said.
They also discussed the use of Russian funds for the restoration of Ukraine.
