The United States and its allies should help Ukraine attack military targets in Russia.

Former US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland said this in an interview with ABC News, according to Yevropeyska Pravda.

"I believe that if the attacks are coming directly from outside Russia's borders, then these bases should be legitimate targets, regardless of where the missiles are launched or where the troops are supplied from," Nuland said, commenting on the Russian offensive in the north of Kharkiv Region.

She believes that after a new escalation of the war by the Russians (referring to the attacks on Kharkiv), "the time has come for Ukraine to strike at the territory of the Russian Federation".

"So I think it's time to give the Ukrainians more help in striking bases inside Russia," said the former Blinken deputy.

Nuland does not believe that such a step by the partners will lead to an escalation and further involvement of Washington in the war in Ukraine, as it is Russia that is responsible for this escalation. At the same time, as the former US Deputy Secretary of State stressed, the aggressor country "gains a direct advantage in this war from our hesitation".
