UK Defence Secretary Grant Shapps has said that a £150 million military package is being sent to Ukraine to strengthen its air and sea defence, The Sun reports

Shapps noted that this will help protect the country's infrastructure, which is suffering from Russian shelling

Air defence radars, decoys and electronic warfare systems worth £70 million will be sent by the UK and allies.

At the same time, £80 million is provided for small boats, reconnaissance drones and unmanned surface vessels.

"The International Fund for Ukraine provides vital support to the Ukrainian Armed Forces to meet their urgent combat capability needs. It includes more air defence systems to protect Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure, as well as maritime capabilities to strengthen the navy," the minister said.

As noted, the United Kingdom is the largest donor of aid to Ukraine, with £500 million already allocated. Denmark, Estonia, Finland and Germany are also part of the alliance.

It should be noted that a series of explosions took place in Kharkiv today. There are dead and wounded in the city and the region. The Russians attacked businesses, including a printing house. President Zelenskyy said that Russian terrorists are taking advantage of Ukraine's lack of sufficient air defence systems.
