German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has said that he sees no reason to expand the use of Western weapons in the war in Ukraine, Tagesschau reports.
Scholz thus opposed Ukraine's use of these weapons on Russian territory. He noted that there are "clear rules that have been agreed with Ukraine and that work" for the supply of German weapons.
"In any case, this is my position," the chancellor said, noting that the goal of his policy towards Ukraine is "to prevent this war from turning into a major war."
Germany has so far linked its arms supplies to Ukraine to the condition that Kyiv will not use these weapons on Russian territory.
